Founded in 1965, Proment Corporation, a Montreal real estate developer, has been the main builder of Nuns' Island for more than 40 years. Proment has in fact designed and built more than 6,000 condominiums and houses, six waterfront communities, the first LEED Gold certified residential towers in Quebec, as well as one of the rare LEED ND districts in Canada. Recognized seven times as “Builder of the Year” by the Quebec Provincial Association of Home Builders (APCHQ) for the creativity of its achievements, Proment has also won numerous other real estate awards. Proment's development projects have made L'Île-des-Sœurs one of the most upscale communities in Montreal. Since 2010, Proment has begun the development of a new district, Pointe-Nord, made up of a combination of residential towers, mid-rise residential buildings, lofts and townhouses, all within walking distance from local shops and the future REM station.
